Construction Project Manager
MAC Construction Group located in Portland, OR has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and motivated Construction Project Manager. This role will support multiple projects in multiple States (including Washington and Oregon) with a primary focus in the general commercial construction market sector. Prospective candidates shall have a thorough working knowledge of construction as it relates to all disciplines and phases of construction in both new construction and rehabilitation construction.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management of MAC Developments construction teams.
- Interact directly and effectively with Clients, Architects, Subcontractors, Vendors and other project stake holders as project’s primary point of contact. Ensuring superior customer service and client satisfaction at all stages of the project’s life cycle.
- Solicit, secure and qualify subcontractors/proposals.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules.
- Develop, execute and manage subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Develop thorough and detailed subcontracts and purchase order scopes of work.
- Develop and manage the change order process.
- Develop and manage the RFI process.
- Solicit, review and distribute submittals.
- Review architectural, structural and civil documents for completeness and constructability.
- Develop Subcontractor scopes of work.
- Manage project budget, monthly reporting, project financial forecasting and Client payment applications.
- Provide pre-construction planning services.
- Provide oversight and guidance to Project Coordinators.
- Assist in estimating, subcontractor selection & contract negotiations.
Candidate Requirements
- Must possess 4-5+ years of direct construction project management experience.
- Proven track record of effectively working with Clients, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Architects, Engineers, City Officials.
- Proven negotiating skills with Subcontractors, Suppliers and Clients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information in documented RFI’s.
- Proficiency in plan reading and material take-offs.
- Proficiency in contract writing.
- Proficiency in submittal review.
- Proven track record of effectively managing profitable and timely projects.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Self-motivated, self-starter, with a proven track record to manage time effectively, hitting deadlines, maintaining budgets and achieving a high level of Client satisfaction consistently.
- Highly organized, efficient, detail oriented and accurate.
- Proficiency in multi-tasking with the ability to run several projects at one time in various stages of construction.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills.
- Strong decision making and conflict resolution skills.
- Candidate will need to have the ability to travel if required to jobs sites as needed (Minimal Travel Anticipated for this Position).
Position Software Requirements
Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Teams), Adobe Professional, Zoom, Blue Beam Revu, SmartBid (Preferred), Sage 300 (Preferred) and ProCore (Preferred).
Preferred Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred but not required.
- Previous construction field experience.
